The office building was designed by SHARP architectures for United Consulting and has clear sustainability ambitions: the choice of timber alone is estimated to save 3.9 million kg of CO₂ compared with a similar concrete building.

  • 3,500 m³ of CLT timber,
  • more than 1,000 integrated solar panels,
  • smart material choices,
  • indoor gardens
  • and plenty of natural light.

These sustainability ambitions continue to guide the project throughout construction. This is a conscious choice by the client, who consistently ensures they are factored into the technical decisions as the project progresses. It is a commitment that we greatly appreciate in practice.

As the architect’s structural engineering partner, we apply our structural engineering expertise to help bridge the gap from design to construction. We developed the specifications and construction details and remain closely involved throughout the build.

In this way, we support Sharp Architecture in ensuring the design ambitions are realised from a structural engineering perspective, and assist the contractor, Beneens Bouw en Interieur, in resolving construction-related issues. At the same time, we contribute our expertise to discussions within the construction team to jointly arrive at feasible and widely supported construction principles.

An intensive collaboration in which design knowledge, structural engineering expertise and construction know-how come together.

That is precisely where we aim to make a difference.
