New construction of a gymnasium and youth center in Antwerp in the contex of the IGLO- master plan for the European Quarter on the Left Bank: an intergenerational program, services and residences for the elderly combined with a nursery.
The master plan is simple: a new road bisects the site and strings all public functions together. It offers addresses to both existing and new facilities. The functions of the hall as well as those of the youth centre are accessed through the street. The sports hall is directly connected to q school, but at the same time directly accessible from the street to users who are not students of the school. The youth centre is a separate entity and can only be accessed via the street.
