The Peterbospark social housing estate in Anderlecht consists of some 20 residential buildings from the 1970s. These for the most part medium-height buildings contain about 100 flats and are planned free-standing on a spacious plot. This creates a park context at ground level.

Feasibility

Part of the buildings are owned by the social housing company Anderlechtse Haard / Foyer Anderlechtois. After an initial feasibility study involving the design team, it was decided to draw up a renovation dossier for three of the buildings to completely renew the facades and technical installations.

Buildings 4, 7 and 13

The three buildings are very similar in terms of architectural style, size and current condition. Buildings 4 and 7 are almost identical copies, building 13 differs slightly in terms of flat types and has a different orientation. Each of the three buildings includes a medium-height building in terms of fire safety, with a cornice height of 25 m.

A total of 296 residential units will be realised after renovation (buildings 4 and 7 96 flats each, building 13 104 flats).

Renovation

After a prefabricated facade is installed at the level of the outside of the existing terraces, the new, continuous insulated shell will receive new terraces. Occupancy is guaranteed during the renovation works.
