Project Support I Collaboration

Construction of a new office for the mayor and aldermen, and a new administrative centre.
The new service centre "Leiespiegel" in Deinze provides 8,000 m² of workspace for 100 employees, a city archive, a cafeteria, a 250 m² council room, public meeting rooms and individual offices for the mayor and the aldermen. The public garden, enclosed by the building, overlooks the river.

The Leiespiegel is lined with Italian natural stone, which is naturally ventilated and generates both heat and cooling, mainly through soil energy storage. The council room has double-height windows that make the activities in the council room and the ceiling artwork visible to the Deinze inhabitants.

The new service centre is the first project with which all the construction elements are entirely drafted and built following the measuring code. This is the first project where the bills of quantities have been completely generated in Revit. Both the architectural and the stability models have been drawn by Bureau Bouwtechniek in separate files and then linked together.

Bureau Bouwtechniek is responsible for the complete construction-technical support of Tony Fretton Architects from the tendering phase. BB is responsible for technical assistance during the design process, the layout of the implementation plans, the development of technical details, the blueprint of constructional specifications and estimates. BB leads the monitoring of the implementation.

De Leiespiegel was published in the A+On siteBouwkroniek and the site Divisare.
