Project

Four new cinema auditoriums (with 108, 115, 131 and 194 seats) were built on Rue Léopold. The structure consists of reinforced concrete walls, partly prefabricated (shell walls), supported by a structure of walls and columns (made of concrete and metal). This structure rests on pile foundations.

The second part, on Brabantkaai, involves the renovation of a former branch of the National Bank of Belgium. The covered passageway on the ground floor meant that the existing columns had to be removed. The existing structure has been reinforced locally and new concrete floor slabs have been constructed.

A new brasserie has also been built between the two buildings. The structure consists of a metal roof on concrete columns. To create the floor of the brasserie, the existing ribbed concrete slab has been reinforced with a 5 cm thick layer of concrete. This ensures the required load-bearing capacity for the new operational load and even allows concerts to be organised here.
