Daylight

Bureau Bouwtechniek bases its advice on the principles of "comfortable low energy architecture" (CLEAR) and "climate responsive design", in which passive measures are applied to the building envelope before proceeding to active measures.

For visual comfort, Bureau Bouwtechniek uses specialized software and measuring instruments to evaluate daylight penetration, the quality of the view and possible discomfort, e.g. due to glare, within the architectural design of the building and its surroundings.

By means of dynamic simulations, the summer comfort and the risk of overheating in the building can be assessed. BB examines different façade designs, shading and ventilation strategies.

Also the energy demand for heating, cooling and lighting can be compared for these models.

BB translates these analyses into well-founded and realistic recommendations.
