Project Support I Collaboration
Construction of a school campus in Peer. In a joint effort of various organising authorities and the city of Peer, the intention is to develop a school campus at the Panhoven site, behind the existing college building. The campus includes a secondary school, a primary school, a sports centre and a boarding school with 70 rooms. The buildings are grouped in a green park-like setting, where sport fields and other recreation possibilities are created in an open atmosphere. These are publicly accessible so they can also be used after school.
The buildings are scattered on the campus, but are interpreted in the same materials and execution mode. For the different buildings, a similar structure and materials have been chosen, resulting in a self-evident uniformity. Durable, aesthetically pleasing and maintenance-friendly materials are used. The plinth of the buildings is executed in a light natural stone. All the garden walls and the façades of bike sheds are also finished in natural stone. The superstructure of the schools and the boarding school is in a light brick. The windows, with profiled panels in between, are made of aluminium. The façade of the hall is in a light, corrugated aluminium sheet.
The Panhoven campus in Peer will be executed in phases and includes 4 sub-projects:
- New building for the primary school of 4,105 m², of which 3.620 m² are located to classrooms, subject rooms, cafeteria and technical areas, and 485 m² to a sports hall.
- New building of 2,044 m² for the boarding school.
- New building for the secondary school of 9,023 m² for classrooms and subject rooms.
- New sports hall of 3,249 m², of which 55 m² are for classrooms and subject rooms, cafeteria and technical space, and a 3,194 m² gymnasium.
