Expansion of the St. Paul Technical Institute. The new building with 3 floors offers extra classrooms arranged around a common circulation space that connects with the existing building. This connection is realized by a footbridge over 3 floors so that not only the new building, but also the existing one is accessible.
The new building's roof will be equipped with an air group and PV-panels. The thermal envelope is minimized and kept as compact as possible, without involving the footbridge and the main staircase. The closed passageway and main staircase are therefore not heated and consequently follow the outside temperature.
