Restoration and renovation of the Open Onderwijshuis building complex in the center of Antwerp. The monumental mansion dates back to 1789. In 1910 it was expanded by a new side wing and served as a girls school. Until recently, the building was known as the Open Onderwijshuis. It offered shelter to various urban services. In 2010, AG VESPA bought the building, after which some refreshments were carried out to temporarily rent the building to the local police. The city decided to provide this building for a period of 10 years for the development of a 'StartUpVillage'. The StartUpVillage must be a place where young innovative companies, big businesses and investors find each other.

Restoration and renovation in different phases
Phase 1 - Work backbuilding:
The roof was restored and the attic isolated. Furthermore, much attention was paid to the restoration of the historic exterior work and the facade. As a result of the new implementation, the technical facilities and the sanitary facilities have been renewed. In collaboration with a custom-made company, the parquet floors have been restored and the common parts are painted.

Phase 2 - Work front building:
The works include, among other things, the restoration of the facade, renovation and insulation of the roof, installation of new exterior work, expansion of techniques and placement of a ventilation system, restoration of the parquet, new floor coverings and painting works common parts and adaptations to optimize access and circulation.
